Background Digital data play a very important role for users in Petroleum Industry. Using digital data allows you to browse, manipulate and process the data easily for technical and management purposes, eventually enabling you to concentrate on your core business of finding oil and gas. Digitalization of the data is aimed to provide ready-used, easily accessed data for evaluation, loading digital logs into workstation for
interpretation as well as for your internally managing the data. PT. Patra Nusa Data, in line with its task to manage Petroleum data, has been doing some effort to enhance the value of well data. Digital well data is defined as well reports and log data presented in digital format. Well reports comprise Geological and Geophysical reports and maps while digital well log data comprise standard well logs for basic petrophysical interpretation.
Data Preparation, Process and QC The hardcopy of well reports and logs are scanned and transformed into PDF and TIFF format. When the original field digital well logs are not available, the scanned logs are then digitized on screen precisely using NDS software. After doing some preparation from individual logs, composite logs are created using Crocker software. Our scanning process utilizes detailed indexing as well as high-resolution capture techniques to scan log data for use in your systems. Additionally, TIFF scanning standards, at 400 dpi, increase pixel clarity and provide a better source document for digital file format conversions (i.e. LIS/LAS/DLIS, etc.). Our team ensures that the digitized data accurately reproduces the original well site measurements. The composite logs include processes such as: QC of individual logs, log editing (noise, cycle skipping), log-merging, depth matching and SP drift correction. The logs header is also entered in the digital logs.
Standard Deliverable Product The standard deliverable product will be bookmarked, object-linked to scanned well reports and logs and digital logs in LAS format provided on CD-Rom. Up to now, PND achieved around 5000 digital well data distributed onshore and offshore. Our digital well data is growing on a daily basis.
